Cheltenham Races in Pictures24/03/2014

Hello everybody – it has been a long time! I have been so busy lately I haven’t had a chance to write a blog post for quite some time, but I am back today with a new set of photographs. A couple of weeks ago the Cheltenham Horse Races were on, and I went with a group of friends and had a great time. I tried betting on a horse, didn’t win. But I also took the opportunity to take photographs at the event. I thought it would be a good opportunity to try taking some ‘timeless’ looking photographs as well – there being a lack of technology at the event. It is only a small set, but I think it is made up of strong images. What do you think?

Cheltenham Horse Races 2014

I will be going next year for sure! It is a great day out and if you enjoy photography, it’s a great opportunity. I shot the day with a Nikon FM2n and 50mm f/1.4 using Fomapan 400 film, which made it hard to get good photographs of the horses, being so far away, but it was a good set up.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Amazing Photographs. In addition may I say what a great blog I’ve spent the last hour going through it. Some really great articles. You’ve got yourself a new subscriber. :) Have you ever photographed Tewkesbury? My Girlfriend is from there!

    • Hi Thomas thanks for your kind words! I haven’t ever photographed Tewksbury but it’s near where I’m from. I went to school in Gloucester!

Hi Paul would you ever be interested in writing a piece about how you set up your blog? I was hoping to set up a photography blog like yours but I could do with some help. I also shoot a M6 classic with a 35 cron. :) Have you considered setting up a street photography group in the south west at all or do you know any that people could join at all?

    • I could do a piece about setting up a blog – I had never thought about it! Thanks :-)
I haven’t considered setting up a group for the southwest – I think it would be a great idea but I now live in Birmingham. I have thought about setting one up for Birmingham but haven’t properly looked into how!

Any thoughts? Leave a comment...
